Edward Oliver LeBlanc (born October 3, 1923 in vielle case ; † October 29, 2004 ibid) was a Dominican politician. In 1961 he became chief minister of the Caribbean island, which was then still under British rule . From 1967 to 1974 he was Prime Minister. LeBlanc is considered to be the state founder of Dominica . Dominica achieved full independence from Great Britain in 1978.
