Roosevelt Skerrit
Roosevelt Skerrit (born June 8, 1972 ) is a Dominican politician. He is the incumbent Prime Minister of the Caribbean island.
Skerritt was nominated for the successor on January 7, 2004, one day after the death of his predecessor Pierre Charles , and sworn in one day later in this office. Previously, he was Minister of Education in Charles' cabinet.
Since October 22, 2007 he also held the office of Foreign Minister, which he handed over to Vince Henderson on November 18, 2008 . On January 4, 2010 he took over this office again.
Skerrit was the youngest head of government in the world when he took office . He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and a member of the Dominica Labor Party .
During his presidency, Dominica is moving further and further away from the US and drawing closer to China and Venezuela .
