Vince Henderson is a politician from Dominica .

biography

Henderson is a member of the Dominica Labor Party (DLP) and currently a member of the House of Assembly, where he represents the constituency of St Joseph .

Most recently, he was Minister for Education, Human Capital Development , Sport and Youth. On November 18, 2008, as part of a cabinet reshuffle, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit appointed him Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Labor, succeeding Skerrit, who previously held this post himself. Henderson, a close confidante of Skerrit, was previously defeated in the election as vice chairman of the DLP with a considerable difference in votes to Ambrose George.

In a press release at the end of August 2009, he announced that he would not be available again for the next parliamentary elections and would withdraw from political life. The next parliamentary elections are expected to take place in May 2010. After the Minister for Caribbean Affairs, Kelly Graneau, Health Minister John Fabien and two other MPs had previously declared their decision not to run again, he expanded the group of parliamentarians to five members who were ready to run again well before the election date next parliament excluded. One reason for Henderson's withdrawal may have been his loss to Ambrose George. On the other hand, rumors emerged that Henderson had received a check for several hundred thousand East Caribbean dollars (EC $) from "Italians" intended for the Saint Joseph City Council .
