Donald Argee "Don" Barksdale (born March 31, 1923 in Oakland , California , † March 8, 1993 ibid) was an American basketball player .

He was the first African-American player to be a member of a US Olympic team at the 1948 Olympic Games . Five years later he was the first African American to be voted into the NBA All-Star Game . Barksdale died at the age of 69 years to cancer . In 2012, Barksdale was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame .
