Chuck Weyant (born April 3, 1923 in St. Marys , Ohio - † January 24, 2017 ) was an American racing car driver .
Career
Weyant came from a racing family. Like his father and brother, he began his career in midget cars before World War II . He celebrated his first victory in this racing series in 1947. As Weyant remained loyal to this racing series throughout his career, he recorded 64 victories, 13 of them in races for the national championship.
Weyant also drove in the AAA National Series between 1952 and 1959 . Here he was denied a victory. His best placings were eighth in the 1954 Las Vegas and 1959 Milwaukee races.
He also competed four times in the Indianapolis 500 in the 1950s . In 1955 he was twelfth and in 1957 he was fourteenth. In 1958 and 1959 he retired early due to an accident.
Weyant raced until 1971. Then an accident in which he sustained serious head injuries stopped his career.
