Ivano Blason (born May 24, 1923 in San Lorenzo Isontino , † March 13, 2002 in Gorizia ) was an Italian football player who during his active career for AS Pro Gorizia , US Triestina , Inter Milan , Hellas Verona and Padova Calcio as well as for the Italian national soccer team accrued.
Career
society
Ivano Blason began his professional career in 1939 with AS Pro Gorizia , for which he was active in the third-highest division for four years. The defender moved to US Triestina in 1945 and participated with the team in Serie A league operations from 1947 to 1950 . In the 1947/48 season, tied with AC Milan and Juventus Turin, they surprisingly came second in the Italian championship. The following two seasons Blason concluded with Triestina in eighth place and then left the club to sign a contract with Inter Milan . He made his debut for Inter on September 10, 1950, when he ran up in the game against Lazio Rome and ended this with a 3-3 draw.
With 28 missions and one goal in the 1950/51 season, he was one of the club's regular squad and was always among the top three teams with the team in his four years in Milan. In 1953 and 1954 he was able to win the Italian championship when Juventus Turin was relegated to second place by a narrow margin. He played his last game for Inter in the 2-2 draw on February 14, 1954 against SPAL Ferrara . In the same year he joined the second division team Hellas Verona , with whom he successfully ensured relegation in the following season.
Then he made another club change and he decided to run for Padova Calcio . The best placement with Padova came in the 1957/58 season, when the excellent third place in Serie A was achieved. His time at Padova and at the same time his active career as a professional player ended after the 1961/62 season, when he could no longer achieve relegation with the team and then decided to end his active career.
National team
The defender was called up by national coach Ferruccio Novo in the Italian squad for the 1950 World Cup . For the first tournament game against Sweden he was not used, his only tournament game and international game he played on July 2, 1950 against Paraguay . The match was won by the Italians 2-0, but due to the previous defeat against Sweden, they failed to make it to the next round, as the Scandinavians won the point they needed to advance to the next round in the match against Paraguay.
