Thyra Sehested (born March 28, 1840 on Broholm Gods with Gudme ; † January 12, 1923 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish historian.

The daughter of the archaeologist Niels Frederik Bernhard Sehested and sister of the pianist Hilda Sehested showed a strong historical interest early on and worked on her father's last work, the Archæologiske Undersøgelser (1878–81). From 1886 she lived as a canoness in Vallø. She dealt with the history of her family in her own writings. Mention should be made of Hannibal Sehested (2 volumes, 1886), Cantsler Christen Christophersen Sehested (1894), Admiral CT Sehesteds Saga , (1904), Rigsmarsk Steen Maltesen Sehested (1911) and the treatises Malthe Sehested and Mogens Sehested (1919). All works have methodological and representational weaknesses, but are informative collections of material.
