Wilhelm Kollhoff

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wilhelm Kollhoff is considered to be the first official radio participant in Germany.

On October 31, 1923 his radio was registered and Kollhoff became the first registered radio listener in Germany. The fees for the reception for one year were gigantic because of the inflation : the approval for the private radio reception cost Kollhoff 350 billion marks. Kollhoff, who owned a cigar shop at Turmstrasse 47 in Berlin-Moabit , received his radio and radio receiver license No. 1 after a two-week waiting period . In 1953 he still owned his cigar shop.
