Carl-Ludwig Furck

Carl-Ludwig Furck (born November 3, 1923 in Frankfurt am Main ; † February 23, 2011 in Hamburg ) was a German educationalist and educational reformer.

As one of the first German university educators, Carl-Ludwig Furck, with his essay "School for the year 2000", published in 1963, advocated comprehensive schools as a form of school appropriate to a democratic society. He has participated in many other educational reforms as a reviewer or commissioner. He promoted the professionalization of educational professions by significantly promoting the establishment of the diploma course for education.

Life

Furck began studying history, philology and education at the universities of Frankfurt / Main and Göttingen in 1945 and received his doctorate in 1952. phil. with Herman Nohl . He then went on to teach at various schools and worked as a research assistant at the University of Marburg . In 1956 he became an academic councilor at the Free University of Berlin and completed his habilitation in 1960. In 1961 he was offered a position at the University of Hamburg . In 1963 he was involved in founding the German Society for Educational Science. In 1965 he was appointed full professor at the Free University of Berlin and was also appointed director of the newly founded Pedagogical Center in Berlin. In 1973 there was a renewed call to the University of Hamburg. From 1979 Furck was the project manager of a distance learning course for German students abroad. He retired in 1989 .

Furck was editor of the magazine for pedagogy and of relates: education .
