Handbook of the German history of education
The Handbuch der deutschen Bildungsgeschichte is a reference work on German educational history . It was published between 1987 and 2005 by Verlag CHBeck in six chronologically arranged volumes, with the sixth volume consisting of two sub-volumes. The contents of the individual volumes are structured in the same way, so that individual topics can also be developed across epochs. Not only the development of the individual educational areas, especially schools and universities , but also their respective epoch-specific context (everyday life, family and childhood, pedagogical knowledge and thinking, poor relief, professional and adult education, media) is dealt with.
