John Brian Naylor (born March 24, 1923 in Salford , † August 8, 1989 in Marbella ) was a British racing driver .

Career

Brian Naylor was a car dealer prior to World War II and was honored for bravery several times during the war he fought as an intelligence officer .

After the war, Naylor began motorsport in the 1950s. In 1957 he borrowed a Cooper T43 and competed in the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring . At the end of the race he crossed the finish line in 13th place and finished second in this class with the little Formula 2 Cooper .

At the end of the 1950s, Naylor began developing his own racing vehicles, which he launched under the name JBW . In addition to sports cars, Naylor also built Formula 1 racing cars that were powered by a Maserati four-cylinder engine. The car made its debut at the 1959 British Grand Prix . Naylor was never really successful with his self-built vehicles in the world championship, only in Formula Libre races there were some good results.

After a long illness, Naylor had to give up racing in 1961 and died in Marbella in 1989.
