Max Velthuijs
Max Velthuijs (born May 22, 1923 in The Hague ; † January 25, 2005 there ) was a Dutch author and draftsman of children's books .
Life
Max Velthuijs studied graphic design at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Arnhem . After that he worked in advertising for a long time . From 1962 he created his first illustrations for children's books.
Velthuijs had his national and later international breakthrough with his award-winning books on the Kikker (German: frog ). His first frog book, published in 1989, has been translated into 27 languages. This was followed by many more adventures by Frosch and his friends. Some of these books have also received literary prizes.
