Friedrich Wilhelm Füchtner
Friedrich Wilhelm Füchtner (born August 23, 1844 in Seiffen ; † 1923 ) was a German artisan from the Ore Mountains . He is considered to be the inventor of the modern form of the nutcracker .
Friedrich Wilhelm Füchtner learned the trade of carpenter . Around 1870 he turned a "king nutcracker", which for the first time had the shape and color of the Ore Mountains nutcrackers known today.
In Füchtner's workshop, other Christmas decorations from the Ore Mountains were also made, for example a bell angel.
Today the craft business is run by Werner Füchtner and his sons Volker Füchtner and Gunter Füchtner in the sixth generation.
