from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans-Joachim Preil (born June 26, 1923 in Köslin , Pomerania , † November 2, 1999 in Berlin ) was a German playwright, director and comedian . He was part of the comedian duo Herricht & Preil .

Life

He was a nephew of the Saxon humorist and folk singer Arthur Preil .

In 1939 Preil began training at the drama school in Berlin and was subsequently engaged at various theaters in Quedlinburg , Aschersleben , Bernburg (Saale) and Magdeburg . He was senior director in Bernburg and Magdeburg before moving from Magdeburg to Berlin in 1961 and working as an assistant director in Babelsberg .

Preil achieved enormous popularity in the GDR through the sketch partnership with Rolf Herricht . The two met for the first time in 1951 in Bernburg, their first jointly performed sketch (“Die Schachpartie”) followed in 1953. For almost three decades (until 1978) Herricht and Preil performed together skits that Preil wrote. Preil himself always took on the instructive role and Herricht played the naive, whose outraged objection “But, Mr. Preil!” Became legendary. Herricht and Preil were a well-known comedian duo in the GDR.

On May 13, 1977 Preil received the GDR Art Prize .

In 1988 Hans-Joachim Preil was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.

In 1993 Preil moderated the radio program “Preil um elf” on Berlin Hundert, 6 .

Preil was married four times. His first wife was Ursula Preil, b. Wilhelm from Quedlinburg . With her he had two children, the daughter Barbara (called Bärbel) and the daughter Gabriele, who died shortly after the birth. Barbara did not follow in her father's footsteps; today she works as a curative educator . His third wife was the GDR mannequin Margitta Lüder-Preil . They were married for twenty years. In 1988 Preil married his fourth wife, Bärbel, who was significantly younger than him. The two met through the new love of his wife, the anesthetist in the hospital where Preil was operated on, Bärbel Preil was a nurse. In 1989 you moved to the south of Berlin.

His daughter Martina-Maria Preil is a singer and also a comedian. Preil was not thrilled when she decided to become a singer. He wanted her to learn a decent job that she ultimately pursued. In the broadcast of the GDR Martina Maria Preil learned the profession of sound engineer . Today his daughter can be seen on the stages of Berlin with various programs of her own.

His grave is located in the urban forest cemetery in Berlin - Oberschöneweide .
