Georgi Ivanovich Salnikov

Georgi Iwanowitsch Salnikow ( Russian Георгий Иванович Сальников , scientific transliteration Georgij Ivanovič Sal'nikov ; * July 12, 1923 in Moscow ; † July 8, 2015 ibid) was a Russian composer and music teacher .

Life

He completed his music studies with a major in piano at the Moscow Conservatory with Vladimir Sofronizki, among others . He later studied composition with Yuri Kotschurow and Oles Tschischko at the St. Petersburg Conservatory . After completing his studies, he returned to the Moscow Conservatory as a professor.

He also appeared as a pianist and horn player.

His compositions spread over a wide spectrum (symphonic works, operas, chamber and vocal music).
