Marcel Zanini

Marcel Zanini (born September 9, 1923 in Istanbul ) is a French jazz musician ( clarinet , tenor saxophone ) and chansonnier , who also worked as an actor.
Live and act
Zanini came to Marseille with his family in 1930 in 1930 where he grew up. In 1942 he began to play the clarinet. He began his career in 1946 in Léo Missir's orchestra. In 1950 the clarinetist founded his own band, which Georges Arvanitas belonged to. Between 1954 and 1958 he worked in New York City with Buck Clayton , Sol Yaged, and Herman Autrey ; he also reported as a correspondent for Jazz Hot magazine . After returning to Marseille, he formed a new band there, with which he performed for the next ten years. In 1968 he moved to Paris, where he had a hit as a singer in 1969 with his adaptation of Wilson Simonals Nem vem que nicht tem as Tu veux ou tu veux pas . In addition to his singing career, he continued to play with his sextet in jazz clubs and festivals. In 1978 he founded the formation Les petits Français with Mustache , Michel Attenoux and François Guin . a. Recorded jazz versions of Georges Brassens ' chansons .
His son Marc-Édouard Nabe sometimes accompanies him on the guitar.
