Anne Jeffreys (born Anne Carmichael on January 26, 1923 in Goldsboro , North Carolina , † September 27, 2017 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .

life and career

She made her film debut in Fuzzy Chases Himself in 1942 . Anne Jeffreys soon played the leading female role in Hunt for Dillinger , Dick Tracy and Land of Hope . In later years she appeared mostly in television productions. Jeffreys was seen as a guest star in series like Baywatch , Murder is Her Hobby , Hotel , LA Law or Falcon Crest . She was nominated for a Golden Globe in 1973 for the series The Delphie Bureau . Since 1984 she has appeared at irregular intervals as "Amanda Barrington" in the soap opera General Hospital .

She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (1501 Vine Street).

Anne Jeffreys was married to Joseph R. Serena from 1945 to 1951 and to actor Robert Sterling from 1951 until his death in 2006 . She was the mother of three children. Jeffreys died at her Los Angeles home on September 27, 2017, aged 94.
