Abdul Ghani Assar (* 1923 in Kabul ) is a former Afghan football player .

His greatest success was his participation with the Afghan national soccer team at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London . There the striker, who played for Mahmoudiyeh FC , came to a mission in which the team lost 6-0 to the team from Luxembourg in the qualifying round and was eliminated from the tournament.

His brother Abdul Ghafoor Assar was also active in the national team.
