Anders Andersen-Lundby (born December 16, 1841 in Lundby, † January 4, 1923 in Munich ) was a Danish painter who mainly specialized in winter landscapes.

Life

Anders Andersen-Lundby moved to Copenhagen in 1861 , where he trained himself as a painter and from 1864 exhibited in Charlottenborg , and later moved to Munich, where his pictures from the area around the city were very popular. Andersen-Lundby may have taught at the Academy in Munich. In 1901 at least one of his paintings was bought for a lottery from the Munich Art Association.

Anders Andersen-Lundby lived temporarily in Munich at Adalbertstrasse 55. At the exhibition in the Royal Glass Palace on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Prince Regent Luitpold , he exhibited the oil painting Milder Wintertag . It showed a scene on the Isar . Andersen-Lundby's works can be found in museums in Aalborg , possibly also in Boston , as well as in the Royal Gallery in Copenhagen, the Neue Pinakothek in Munich and in Trieste . An Andersen Lundby collection owned by Count Klaus von Thun and Hohenstein Veit was auctioned in 2005.
