action
After the big summer vacation, the new school year has started. Some of the older students have their first love. So it is also Sandro and Marcella, he the son of the doctor Professor Vittorio Bacci and she the daughter of the elegant bespoke tailor Vincenzo Corallo. Because of their crush, the two pose a number of problems for their parents.
The Blasi couple are expecting their first child. Guido, the young husband, worries about how he, as a poorly paid driving instructor, will later fulfill the many wishes of his wife Giulia.
The great time of the master tailor begins in winter. While his son has to take care of the male customers, the boss feels more drawn to the female customers. With great artistry, Vincenzo Corallo then measures the waist and breasts of the fine ladies in the fitting and takes a lot of time.
In the family of the zoo keeper Amerigo Santarelli, the youngest of the five children fell ill with measles. To protect the other four from infection, they are housed with friends and acquaintances. Alvaruccio, the liveliest of the five, is brought by her mother to live with her older sister Rita, who is married to the airport mechanic Cesare Marchetti. But he is not at all enthusiastic about the - even if only short-term - addition to the family, especially since he has grown apart with his wife lately. Therefore, Cesare often avoids meeting the child. He benefits from the fact that he currently has the late shift and the boy is in bed when he comes home. When he is just about to warm up his meal in the kitchen, Alvaruccio follows an old habit and goes to the toilet. An encounter between the two cannot be avoided. And then a little miracle happens: the little one melts the ice armor that surrounds his uncle. When it is time for Alvaruccio to return to his parents' household, Cesare discovers that a child would do his marriage good. But because his wife can't give him one, the couple want to adopt one.
After all, it's Christmas. Guido and Giulia Blasi are happy about their offspring - twins! Rita and Cesare Marchetti celebrate the feast with the boy they have taken from the orphanage. Amerigo Santarelli learns from his wife that she is pregnant for the sixth time. It is gradually dawning on bespoke tailor Corallo that his daughter, whom he still viewed as a child, has grown up. With his diplomatic skills he succeeds in wrestling the mostly rumbling professor Bacci consent to the marriage of Sandro with Marcella. In the end, all problems have dissipated in favor.
