Emma Baron (real Emma Bardon ; born October 19, 1904 in Treviso , † March 7, 1986 in Rome ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Baron, the Italian mother actress par excellence, devoted herself to the stage after graduating in literary studies and appeared alongside great actors of the 1920s and 1930s such as Maria Melato and Marta Abba . From 1937 on, she went on tours with her husband Ennio Cerlesi - they had married the year before - which took them through Europe and as far as the USA , where they played for the Italian immigrants. Her first famous mother role followed in 1941 in Mario Camerini's I promessi sposi . The war interrupted the career that had just begun - although she had made four films in the 1930s - which she resumed in 1948 and made film on film until the mid-1960s. In 1971 she ended her screen career.
