Ennio Cerlesi

Ennio Cerlesi (born January 21, 1901 in Turin , † February 1, 1951 in Rome ) was an Italian actor and voice actor .

Life

Cerlesi, the son of Eugenio Cerlesi and Savina Fugazza, made his debut with Annibale Ninchi's stage company and played alongside Amedeo Chiantoni , Maria Melato , Marta Abba , Calisto Bertramo , Paola Borboni and in numerous other ensembles. In 1939 he was the first to play in the Italian version of Eugene O'Neill's Beyond the Horizon , which was staged at the “Teatro delle Arti” in Rome by Anton Giulio Bragaglia . 1947/1948 he stayed with his wife, Emma Baron , in the United States , where they successfully a. a. performed in Chicago .

For ten years since 1932, Cerlesi only played second-row roles in film. The patriotic drama Il dottor Antonio in 1937 and the adventurous penny story Fanfulla da Lodi two years later were rare exceptions . In 1943 he worked on a screenplay for Gennaro Righelli and immediately after the end of the war he staged the comedy Uno tra la folla with Piero Tellini , in which Eduardo De Filippo played the leading role. Cerlesi wrote various comedies under his own name and under pseudonyms such as Gabar Vetzery , William Strickland and Marion Delay .

Cerlesi also worked for the radio and as a voice actor.
