Luca Turilli (born March 5, 1972 in Trieste , Italy ) is an Italian composer, musician and producer . He is co-founder of the band Rhapsody of Fire as well as co-founder, keyboardist and composer of the band Luca Turilli's Dreamquest . He has also released solo albums under his own name. After leaving Rhapsody of Fire , he founded the band Luca Turilli's Rhapsody .

biography

From his father, who played as a freelance artist in orchestras , Turilli was confronted with classical music at a very early age and learned the piano , flute and guitar . According to his own statements, his great role models in classical music are Antonio Vivaldi , Niccolò Paganini and Johann Sebastian Bach . He also developed his enthusiasm for film music .

In 1993 he founded the band Thundercross , which renamed itself to Rhapsody after the release of its first demo Land of Immortals and since July 2006 has been called Rhapsody of Fire . He was a guitarist and composer. After the first five albums and several very successful tours through Europe , Asia and Latin America , Turilli began working on a solo project.

In September 1999 he released his first solo album, King of the Nordic Twilight , which formed the cornerstone of the Cosmic Vision trilogy he had devised . The singer of the project was Olaf Hayer , the bass player was Sascha Paeth . The second album Prophet of the Last Eclipse was released in 2002, the third album The Infinite Wonders of Creation in 2006 .

In 2006 Luca Turilli founded Luca Turilli 's Dreamquest, a new band with which he pursues a new style. Dreamquest is more influenced by electronic elements, the vocal part is performed by a mezzo-soprano singer, while Turilli primarily plays the keyboard and other keyboard instruments. The debut album Lost Horizons was released in 2006.

In 2011 Turilli left Rhapsody of Fire after the release of the ninth studio album on a friendly basis and founded Luca Turilli's Rhapsody together with some other band members . In this context he declared his two previous solo projects over.

Since 2013 Turilli has also been working as a music producer with his own company Luca Turilli Music Productions , which offers composition, songwriting and arrangements for the genres of pop , rock , folk , electronic and symphonic as well as for the entertainment industry (video games, among others).
