- Time of the Three Kingdoms : The Wei ruler Sima Shi , who resides in Luoyang , consolidates his power by slanderously indicting the aspiring ministers Li Feng, Xiahou Xuan and Zhang Ji of treason and murdering their families. A month later, Emperor Cao Fang must also depose his wife, Empress Zhang .
- Emperor Cao Fang, embittered by Sima Shi's expansion of power, plans a conspiracy against the regent with his confidants. The plan is to take over the troops of Sima Shi's son Sima Zhao when they stop in the capital on their way to Chang'an . Although the plan does not go ahead, Regent Sima Shi learns of the plot and forces Emperor Cao Fang to be deposed. Empress mother Guo has 13-year-old Cao Mao appointed as the new emperor.

March 5 : The Roman bishop Lucius I dies. He is buried in the Catacomb of Calixtus .
His bones are later transferred to the Church of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere . His skull is a relic in Copenhagen . - May 12: Stephan I is elected Bishop of Rome. He almost provokes a rupture in the church because he strictly rejects rebaptism . His position only finally asserts itself after his death.
