The Roman Empire and its Neighbors
- Emperor Valerian succeeds in recapturing the city of Antioch on the Orontes from the Sassanids and regaining control of the province of Syria .

Imperial crisis of the 3rd century : Franconian troops invade the north-west of the Roman Empire , plunder cities in Gaul and even Tarraco in Tarraconensis . The Alemanni cross the Alps and advance into Italy. The Upper German-Raetian Limes must be given up as the outer border of Rome. In the following period the construction of the Danube-Iller-Rhein-Limes begins .
The remains of the Upper German-Raetian Limes have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2005 .

- Time of the Three Kingdoms : Wei regent Sima Zhao orders the loyal general Zhuge Dan to return to the capital, allegedly in order to receive a promotion. Zhuge Dan suspects that Sima Zhao tries to eliminate his potential opponents and then usurp the emperor's power. He starts an uprising against the regent from Wu China .
