Career
Manchester City
In 2005, the young attacker moved into the professional squad of Manchester City . In the preparation games for the 2005/06 season he made his debut for the Citizens . Miller had to wait until March 18, 2006 for his premiere game in the 2005/06 Premier League . Against Wigan Athletic , he came on in the 61st minute for Georgios Samaras . The game was lost 0-1. It was his only use for this season. In the following season Miller came to 16 league appearances for the professional team, but got most of the match practice through the reserve team, where he was also a top scorer at times. Behind strikers like Darius Vassell , Georgios Samaras, Bernardo Corradi , Stephen Ireland and Emile Mpenza , who signed on in February 2008 , Miller usually only played the role of spectator or joker.
West Bromwich Albion
In the summer of 2007, the clubs Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion fought for the striker's favor. On August 15, 2007, Bromwich coach Tony Mowbray announced that Miller was on loan for the upcoming season. The offensive player made his debut for the new team on August 18 and was on the scorers list with a 2-0 win. He scored the goal seven minutes after coming on as a substitute against Kevin Phillips . In the period that followed, the big attacker gained increasing attention and city coach Sven-Göran Eriksson also mentioned in October 2007 that Miller was still playing a role in the team manager's future plans. Nevertheless, the striker decided against Manchester and signed a permanent contract with the Baggies on January 31, 2008 for the next 3½ years. At the end of the 2007/08 season Miller (34 games / 9 goals) was with Bromwich champion in the English second division and thus achieved promotion. Miller scored his first Premier League goal on October 28, 2008 in a 2-1 defeat by Newcastle United . In December 2008 Miller (15 games / 3 goals) tore his cruciate ligament in a clash with goalkeeper David James in the game against Portsmouth FC . He was out for the rest of the second half of the season. His team rose at the end of the season from the Premier League 2008/09 and so Miller came back to a league game on January 8, 2010 in the Football League Championship 2009/10 . He played a total of 15 second division games and scored two goals. After returning to the Premier League, he played 6 missions before moving to the Queens Park Rangers on January 21, 2011 on loan .
