Bernardo Corradi (born March 30, 1976 in Siena ) is an Italian football player .

Career

Bernardo Corradi gained his first experience with round leather in his hometown of Siena on a small Capuchin football field. After elementary school he also played basketball and athletics. It was always easy for him to play football next to school because he attended the Liceo classico ES Piccolomini , which gave him a lot of freedom in this regard.

At his first club, AC Siena , he was never used and he had to be content with clubs in the lower Italian leagues in the early stages of his career, until 1997 in Sardinia at Cagliari Calcio . He made his Serie A debut in 1999 against his future club Lazio . In a later episode Corradi graduated as a substitute and a move to Chievo Verona in the summer of 2001 improved his position again. 20 goals in 65 games for Verona brought Corradi and his club a contract worth four million euros with Inter Milan . There he could not establish himself, however, and only after a month he moved to Lazio Rome.

In the 2003/04 season Corradi contributed ten goals to the success of his club. The team won the Italian Cup and finished the season in sixth place. In the 2004/05 season Corradi moved for the first time abroad to Spain for first division side Valencia CF . The Spanish club signed a contract with Lazio Rome worth 16.6 million euros for the two players Corradi and Stefano Fiore . In Valencia, Corradi appeared in 21 games and scored three goals.

Since 2005 he has been back in the Italian Serie A. He was awarded by Valencia CF for one season to Parma FC , where he established himself as a regular player and scored ten goals in 36 games. In the 2006/07 season he moved to Manchester City for the transfer of three million euros in the Premier League . He saw the yellow-red card on his first appearance for ManCity. He made his first goals on matchday 13 and since he had to leave the field again on matchday 17 with yellow and red, he lost his regular place to Emile Mpenza . After that disappointing year, he aimed to return to Italy. First you loaned him back to Parma for the 2007/08 season, where he played a passable season despite relegation to Serie B. In the summer of 2008, the striker moved to Serie A club Reggina Calcio , but his goals could not save Reggina from relegation to Serie B in the following season, so he joined Udinese Calcio a year later . The Italian has been playing in the North American Major League Soccer for Montreal Impact since January 2012 .

National team

Bernardo Corradi made his debut on February 12, 2003 against Portugal for the Italian national football team . He scored two goals in his first five games for his country and was a real alternative for then national coach Giovanni Trapattoni . Corradi took part with Italy in the 2004 European Championship in Portugal and was used in the game against Bulgaria (2-1). Corradi has played a total of 13 games for the Squadra Azzurra so far .
