The Unione Sportiva Poggibonsi (also US Poggibonsi for short) is a football club from Poggibonsi , Province of Siena , Italy .
history
The association was founded in 1925. The club colors are yellow and red. He first played professional football in 1989 in Serie C2 , from which he relegated after the 1994/95 season from Girone B as bottom of the table to Campionato Nazionale Dilettanti ( called Serie D from 2000 ). In 2001 he returned to the C2 series, from 2002 under the name Poggibonsi Valdelsa 2002 . After the season, the forced relegation and the move to the sixth division (Eccellenza). After winning the championship, the club stayed in Serie D from 2004 to 2006 and then rose to third in the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione after the license refusal to AS Fortis Spoleto from Spoleto and ASD Fortis Juventus 1909 from Borgo San Lorenzo . The team has had its current name again since 2004. In the 2008/09 season, the team actually rose after the playdown against San Marino Calcio , but was allowed to remain in the league after nine teams were withdrawn. Since then, the team has remained in the fourth division after winning a playdown in 2010 against AC Bellaria Igea Marina . The current sponsor is the Monte dei Paschi di Siena bank .
