San Marino Calcio is a San Marino football club founded in Serravalle in 1960 . After being promoted in 2012, the club now takes part in the game of the third highest Italian soccer league, the Lega Pro Prima Divisione , making it the only professional club in the dwarf state.
The club was founded in 1960 as Società Sportiva Serenissima by the San Marino Football Association so that San Marino would have its own professional team. For the temporary merger from 1974 to 1976 with SS Juvenes Serravalle , the club was renamed Associazione Calcio San Marino to finally get its current name.
