Papoose (rapper)
Papoose (actually Shamele Mackie ; born March 5, 1978 in Brooklyn , New York ) is an American rapper.
Career
Papoose is known by a large number out of him matched mixtapes . He first went public in 1998 when he released a song on DJ Kay Slay's Streetsweeper mixtape , Vol. 2: The Pain From The Game on Sony. He won the MTV Justo Award for Best Underground Rapper of the Year in 2005 . One of his most famous songs is Alphabetical Slaughter , in which Papoose only raps with alphabetically arranged, alliterative verses. Papoose style resembles that of coming from Harlem rapper Big L .
Papoose had signed a record deal with Jive Records . He received $ 1.5 million for the signature. However, he left the label after "a year of hell". He released a mixtape with Memphis Bleek on Roc-A-Fella Records , the label of Damon Dash and Jay-Z . The release date of his debut album The Nacirema Dream ( American written back to front) is unknown as Papoose did not sign a contract with a label after leaving the Jive label. Only when he has found a new label can he bring out his album. So far, he has published 21 mixtapes, all of which were made available for download on the Internet. He also rapped in the song Touch It (Remix) by Busta Rhymes and released other tracks with him. One of them, Gun Of Mines (also known as Drop It ) was created by Dr. Dre produces. He can also be heard on the song Ridin '(remix) by Chamillionaire . He was also featured with his song Born To Win on the soundtrack album for the video game Madden NFL 06 from EA Sports .
It is falsely believed that he had the five boroughs of New York tattooed on his hand because they were seen in the video clip for the remix of the song Touch It by Busta Rhymes and on the cover of the 2012 mixtape "Most Hated Alive". The tattoos were not real, but can only be seen in the video, as Papoose emphasizes in the text.
Papoose worked with other rappers like Nas , Busta Rhymes, Talib Kweli , AZ , Mobb Deep , Ghostface Killah , Kool G Rap , Lupe Fiasco , Jae Millz, Chamillionaire, Paul Wall , Juvenile and many more. He is engaged to the famous rapper Remy Ma .
