Rah Digga

Rah Digga (born December 18, 1974 in Newark , New Jersey ; real name Rashia Fisher ) is an American rapper . She was a member of the New York hip-hop crew Flipmode Squad , founded by Busta Rhymes . Other members were Rampage , Lord Have Mercy , Spliff Star and Baby Sham .

biography

Rah Digga grew up as a well-protected only child in a middle-class family. She attended a private school in Maryland and then began studying electrical engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology , which she dropped out due to her success in her rap career.

She was discovered by Q-Tip ( A Tribe Called Quest ) in the late 1980s when she was eight months pregnant at New York's Lyricist Lounge . Q-Tip also introduced her to Busta Rhymes , of whose hip-hop crew Flipmode Squad she soon became the only female member. She was previously a member of the hip-hop groups Twice The Flavor and Da Outsidaz , which also included Eminem and Bizarre from D12 . She was inspired by hip-hop artists such as Rakim , Kool G. Rap and Queen Latifah .

In 1997 she appeared on Busta Rhymes' album When Disaster Strikes . She also recorded the track Be OK for the Lyricist Lounge Vol. 1 compilation with her rap colleague Bahamadia . She also worked with the Fugees on the Cowboys title .

In 1998 she released the album The Imperial with Flipmode Squad . She recorded songs with producers Pete Rock and DJ Premier . In 2000, she released her first album, Dirty Harriet , which sold over 300,000 copies. As an actress, she was in the horror film 2001 13 spirits to see they also track the Mirror, Mirror contributed

In 2003 she was portrayed in the film Miss MC presents Queens of Hip Hop with other rappers ( Salt'N'Pepa , Roxanne Shanté , Lady Luck , Charli Baltimore , ...).

Rah Digga has supported a number of artists since her debut album. She raped z. B. on Busta Rhymes' hit single "I Know What You Want" and on albums by Talib Kweli , Bless, Masta Ace and Jamelia . She is also part of the all- women Murda Mamis group . Members include DJ Lazy K, Supermodel , Gloria Velez and Remy Ma . Rah Digga has a daughter (* 1996) and is married to Young Zee from Da Outsidaz.

In February 2006, the album Sucker Free was released exclusively through iTunes . In February 2006 she starred in Busta Rhymes Touch it Video.
