Friedrich I of Hessen-Homburg (* March 5, 1585 in Lichtenberg Castle ; † May 9, 1638 in Homburg vor der Höhe ) was the first Landgrave of Hesse-Homburg and founder of the house of the same name.

Life

Friedrich was the youngest son of Landgrave Georg I of Hesse-Darmstadt (1547–1596) from his first marriage to Magdalena (1552–1587), daughter of Count Bernhard VIII. Zur Lippe .
