Johann Baptist Laßleben
Johann Baptist Laßleben (born March 5, 1864 in Lupburg , † February 14, 1928 in Kallmünz ) was a German teacher , local researcher and publisher .
Life
Laßleben was born the son of the innkeeper and butcher Josef Laßleben and his wife Walburga Ferstl. He attended the teachers' seminar (today's Max-Reger-Gymnasium Amberg ), where he passed the exam in 1884. After graduating, he took a position as a teacher in Kallmünz in 1889.
In addition to his job, Laßleben dealt intensively with the history of his home in the Upper Palatinate . In 1907 he started the self-published local magazine Die Oberpfalz , which has remained one of the most important local history monthly magazines in Bavaria to this day.
After his death, his son Michael Laßleben continued to run the publishing house and magazine, his daughter Barbara Bredow-Laßleben (1896–1962) acted as editor and his son Hans Laßleben as a graphic designer until he was called up in 1939.
