Elisabeth Moore
Elisabeth Holmes Moore (born March 5, 1876 , Brooklyn , New York City , † January 22, 1959 , Starke , Florida ) was an American tennis player .
She won the US Open in women's singles in 1896, 1901, 1903 and 1905 . She also won the women's doubles title in 1896 and 1903 and the mixed title in 1902 and 1904.
Her greatest strength was her physique. Once in two days she won two games over five sets. Much to her displeasure, since 1902 the games in women's tennis have only been played for three sets of wins (with the exception of the WTA Tour Championships from 1984 to 1998).
