Martin A. Hainz

Martin Andreas Hainz (born March 5, 1974 in Vienna ) is an Austrian Germanist, comparativeist, literary and translation theorist and philosopher.

Life

Hainz teaches and researches a. a. at the universities of Vienna , Timisoara , Jassy and Trondheim at the Free University of Berlin a . a. in the areas of German studies and general and comparative literature . He is a Humboldtian , also u. a. Member of the Northeastern Language Association (NEMLA).

He is currently working on topics of globalization and the construction of the ego or autobiography and teaches at the PH Burgenland.

Hainz is primarily active in the field of literary theory and its relationship to literature, poetics and philosophy or theology. The focus of his work is on Paul Celan and Rose Ausländer , in whose historical-critical edition he is involved, Klopstock as well as Theodor W. Adorno , Peter Szondi and the deconstruction of Jacques Derrida . This is reflected in his style, which is a medium of knowledge, i.e. the literary theoretical appreciation of the linguistic in his own theory text also updated, for example in poetic means, but also in the fact that sometimes a topic is dealt with in several essays that complement each other, the term committed to the constellation .

Hainz also researches peripheral zones, i.e. H. Translation issues, but also little-noticed authors such as Leopold von Sacher-Masoch , Alfred Margul-Sperber and the philosopher Constantin Brunner . In his work on Klopstock, he linked theology with poiesis and metaphysics in a creation polylog . On the basis of these reflections, Hainz also commented on (daily) political issues.

In the Czernowitz and Bukowina research, Hainz represents a new concept of multiculturalism based on difference in this context. In the field of translation theory, his volume Vom Glückzustecken sich zu Infekt sich was discussed intensively and was rated as “beyond praise” by Modern Austrian Literature .

Hainz researches mainly u. a. on Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock , the subject of his habilitation thesis.
