Wolf Bauer (born March 5, 1939 in Steinach , Thuringian Forest) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Education, work and family

After graduating from high school in Gotha in 1957 , Bauer went to the Federal Republic of Germany and took the supplementary high school diploma in Frankfurt am Main . He then earned a degree in pharmacy at the University of Cologne and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn , which he in 1965 with the state examination and in 1966 with the approval of pharmacists ended. Bauer then did his military service and after several military exercises was promoted to senior staff pharmacist of the reserve . Bauer has been working as an independent pharmacist in Euskirchen since 1968 . In 1990 he received his doctorate as Dr. rer. nat. at the Philipps University of Marburg with the thesis "Selected aspects of the pharmacy regulations " .

Bauer is the deputy chairman of the Euskirchen Caritas Association . He is also president of the German- Uzbek Society and chairman of the Karl-I.-Osse-Verein Euskirchen. In 2001 he was the first foreigner since 1917 to be awarded honorary citizenship of the Russian city of Astrakhan for his long-term commitment to international understanding .

Wolf Bauer is married and has two children.

Political party

Bauer joined the CDU in 1975 and was chairman of the CDU district association in Euskirchen from 1991 to 1999 and deputy chairman of the CDU district association in Aachen from 1993 to 1999 . From 1983 to 1986, Bauer was also the district chairman of the CDU / CSU SME association in Euskirchen.

MP

Bauer was a member of the Euskirchen City Council from 1979 to 1994. Since 1994 he has also been a member of the district council of the Euskirchen district .

From 1987 to 2009 he was a member of the German Bundestag . Here he was chairman of the health working group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group until 2002 . He is also deputy chairman of the German-Central Asian parliamentary group .

Wolf Bauer has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Euskirchen - Erftkreis II constituency . In the 2005 Bundestag election , he achieved 46.3% of the first votes .

Public offices

From 1980 to 1994 Bauer was honorary mayor of Euskirchen.

Honors

In 2001, Wolf Bauer was the first foreigner since 1917 to be awarded honorary citizenship by the Russian Volga city of Astrakhan for his long-term commitment to international understanding.
