Leif Torbjørn Næsvold (born March 5, 1998 in Røyken ) is a Norwegian Nordic combined skier .

Career

Næsvold, who starts for Røykenhopp , made his international debut at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2015 in Tschagguns . While he reached eleventh place in the sprint, he finished 23rd over 10 kilometers. A year later, Næsvold took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2016 in Râșnov , Romania . There he finished in the two individual competitions in the Gundersen method a tenth and a 26th place. In the team competition he reached fifth place together with Lars Ivar Skårset , Petter Løset Skodjereite and Einar Lurås Oftebro . Another year later, at the Junior World Ski Championships in 2017 in the US Soldier Hollow , he achieved 29th place in the individual on the normal hill with a subsequent cross-country distance of five kilometers. He had already made his debut in the Nordic Combined Continental Cup on January 8, 2017 in Høydalsmo . In this competition series, he achieved his best result so far on February 4, 2018 in Planica in seventh place.

At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Næsvold started the World Cup for the first time on November 30, 2018 in Lillehammer and immediately placed in the points as 21st. Due to the high competition in the Norwegian team, however, he mainly competed in the second-rate Continental Cup in the following months. There he was able to celebrate his first individual victory as well as his first victory with the relay in Ruka . With a total of three Continental Cup victories, he finished the season in second place in the overall standings, whereas he finished 45th in the World Cup.
