Høydalsmo , formerly Ofte , is a town in Tokke municipality in the Vestfold og Telemark province in Norway .

Høydalsmo Church

In Høydalsmo there is a wooden long church with 85 seats from 1747. A stave church that has existed since around 1200 was demolished in 1785.

education

In Høydalsmo there is a combined primary and secondary school with 85 pupils. Adjacent to it is the community center and the soccer field. The best- known company is the street café on Haukelivegen (E 134). As it is located exactly on the connecting road between Oslo and Haugesund , it is considered a central stop for travelers. The café has had its own library for truck drivers and commuters since 2007.

Sports

Høydalsmo is known for its good skiing conditions. In sources there are indications that the world's first organized ski jumping competition took place in town. This is also indicated by a monument on site. As early as 1866, Høydalsmo IL, the first local ski club, was founded. Norwegian Championships have been held regularly in Høydalsmo since the 2000s. In 2005 and 2007, Høydalsmo hosted competitions in the Nordic Combined B World Cup . Even after that, the Nordic Combined Jumping for the Nordic Combined Continental Cup took place on the normal hill built in 1993, the Huka Hoppanlegg . Since the 2017/18 season , the Norwegian Nordic Combined Continental Cup competitions have been held on the large hill (HS 111) of the Renabakkene ski jumping facility in Rena instead of Høydalsmo .
