Tokke is a municipality in western Norway Fylke Vestfold og Telemark . The neighboring municipalities are Vinje , Seljord , Fyresdal , Valle and Bykle . The highest point is Urdenosi ( 1520  moh. ).

The municipality is at the end of the Telemark Canal . Tokke has been exporting whetstones since the Viking Age . There used to be a lot of bears here, so the coat of arms shows a bear. In 1689 copper ore deposits were discovered near Åmdals Verk , until 1945 copper was mined.

The municipality has four main towns : Dalen , Høydalsmo , Lårdal and Åmdals Verk .
