Lene Vågslid (born March 17, 1986 in Tokke ) is a Norwegian politician of the social democratic party Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). She has been a directly elected MP in Storting since 2013 .

Life

Vågslid is a trained teacher and from 2003 to 2006 she headed the youth organization Arbeidernes Ungdomsfylking (AUF) in what was then the province of Telemark . From 2007 to 2011 she was an MP in the Fylkesting of Telemark. In the 2009 parliamentary elections , he did not succeed in obtaining a direct mandate in the Norwegian national parliament in Storting . Instead, she became a so-called Vararepresentantin , i.e. substitute MP. As such, from 2010 onwards, she represented her party colleague Gunn Olsen , who was suffering from cancer.

In the 2013 parliamentary election , she finally moved directly to Storting, where she has since continued to represent the Telemark constituency. Vågslid became a member of the Judiciary Committee and after the 2017 election she took over the chairmanship of the committee. In the period from June 2015 to September 2017, she was also a member of the parliamentary committee of her party.

She has a daughter together with the Ap politician Arild Grande . In 2018, the two admitted that they had used bonus points from business trips contrary to the parliamentary directive for private travel.

Positions

Vågslid advocates a ban on the acquisition and possession of semi-automatic firearms and in August 2019 criticized the government at the time that it was acting too slowly.
