Røyken

Røyken is a former municipality in the former province ( Fylke ) Buskerud , today Viken , in Norway . Røyken last had 22,635 inhabitants in January 2019 and covered an area of ​​113 km². The administrative seat was Midtbygda. On January 1, 2020, Røyken became part of Asker Municipality .

The station Røyken is located on the railway line Asker Spikkestad that led to 2 June 1973 to Brakerøya.

Natural ice was exported to England in the 19th century . The ice from the lakes at Røyken was valued by the English royal family for its transparency.
