Uwe Kalski (born July 4, 1988 in Stralsund ) is a former German handball player . He played on the positions back center as well as back space left and right.

Career

His father, a former player and coach at HSV Grimmen '92, brought him to handball and trained him up to the age of 16. Then Uwe Kalski switched to the CJD Christophorus School Rostock, elite school of sports, and played during the B and A youth at HC Empor Rostock . In 2005 he was in the final of the German championship with the B-Youth from Empor. In 2006 his career began as an active member of the traditional East German club.

The consequences of a complicated ankle joint fracture, which Kalski suffered in the quarter-final game for the German A-Youth Championship, led him back to the then regional league team HSV Grimmen '92 for a short time. After nine months, however, he was able to continue his competitive sports career at Bad Doberaner SV. In the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons, Kalski also demonstrated qualities in the unfamiliar position in the left backcourt and scored 137 field goals in his second season. In 2010 Uwe Kalski moved from the Baltic to the North Sea , to HSG Varel in the 2nd North Handball League . After only one year, TSV Altenholz signed him as a new director for two seasons. Because of the long-term effects of the ankle fracture, he had to end his career for the time being in autumn 2012. From the summer of 2013, Kalski trained for his return to competitive sports at VfL Bad Schwartau and was finally signed by VfL for the 2013/14 season. For the following two seasons, the playmaker signed a contract with the ambitious third division club SV Mecklenburg Schwerin , as the traditional Schwerin club wanted to return to the German lower house. In this context, he was able to complete his master's degree. After the 2015/16 season, Uwe Kalski ended his career with the "Mecklenburg Bulls". From November 2016, he helped out at short notice in addition to his legal clerkship at the upper division HSG Ostsee N / G and was deployed under coach Thomas Knorr in the 2016/17 season if necessary.

Kalski is single. After completing his teaching degree, he completed his legal clerkship in Schleswig-Holstein and now works as a teacher for special tasks in the field of training science at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena.

Kalski will take over as coach from HSV Insel Usedom for the 2020/21 season .
