Simen Tiller (born November 26, 1995 in Lillehammer ) is a Norwegian Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Tiller, who starts for Moelven IL , made his international debut at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2011 in Liberec , where he finished 21st in the individual competition using the Gundersen method . In his Continental Cup debut in Høydalsmo on January 20, 2012, Tiller initially missed the points, but was able to achieve them two days later. A month later, Tiller took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships for the first time and took 39th place in both individual competitions in Erzurum . At the 2015 Junior World Championships in Almaty , Kazakhstan , Tiller won the bronze medal in the team competition together with Harald Johnas Riiber , Jarl Magnus Riiber and Lars Buraas .

In the summer of 2018, Tiller scored his first Grand Prix points with 24th place in Planica . In the 2018/19 Continental Cup season , Tiller was also in better shape and was able to reach the podium twice in the team, including a win in Ruka .

At the beginning of December 2019, Tiller was part of the national group at the home World Cup in Lillehammer . After going twelfth on the trail after a strong jump , he saved himself to 21st place with a decent mileage, with which he won his first ten World Cup points. Nevertheless, due to the high level of competition in the Norwegian team, he was relegated to the Continental Cup , where he reached the individual podium for the first time in Oberwiesenthal in mid-January 2020 in second behind Harald Johnas Riiber . In the further course of the season, Tiller showed consistently good performances, especially in the jumping area, and was thus able to achieve further podium positions. In addition, he won the first mixed team competition in the Continental Cup in Eisenerz, together with Aleksander Skoglund , Mari Leinan Lund and Gyda Westvold Hansen .
