Mari Leinan Lund (born May 28, 1999 ) is a Norwegian Nordic combined skier .

Career

Leinan Lund, who starts for Tolga IL , made her international debut on September 4th, 2015 in Oberstdorf in the Youth Cup . As part of this competition, she reached the podium for the first time in Harrachov in mid-January 2016 . She won her first national medal in third place at the Norwegian Summer Championships 2017 in Lillehammer .

At the first Continental Cup , Leinan Lund started for the first time on January 20, 2018 in Rena , where she did not start after the jump round. In the winter of 2018/19 she only competed in Rena, but did not start in cross-country skiing again. At the end of the season at the end of March, she and Hanna Midtsundstad won the silver medal in the team sprint at the Norwegian Championships in Oslo . In addition, at the end of March, Leinan Lund was elected the first female athlete representative to the FIS Athletes Commission.

In summer 2019, Leinan Lund made his debut in the Grand Prix . She achieved her best individual placement as eighth in the Gundersen competition in Oberhof . In the overall standings she took tenth place. A few weeks later she was nominated for Norway's first female national squad.

Mari is the older sister of the Nordic skier Marte Leinan Lund . She currently lives in Trondheim .
