The Radio Club Argentino ( German  about "Argentinischer Funkverein" ), RCA for short , is the national association of radio amateurs in Argentina .

It was founded on October 21, 1921 and is a non-profit organization that promotes its members and supports their activities.

history

In the editorial offices of the newspaper La Prensa was RCA established.

As early as 1898, Tebaldo Ricaldoni describes in his essay published in January 1900 in the Apuntes de Física ( German  about "Mitteilungen zur Physik" ), about "detalla el 'Telégrafo Sin Hilos' de Marconi, 'utilizando las vibraciones de Hertz.'" ( German  "Details of Marconi's ' Wireless Telegraphs ', 'Using Hertzian Waves .'" ).

As the world began to recover from the aftermath of the First World War , the historical development of radio technology picked up speed rapidly. There was more and more knowledge, components and devices around the world, as well as people enthusiastic about the new technology. They began to build their own receivers and later also transmitters , and to communicate wirelessly with other “colleagues” who were just as willing to experiment.

To organize them in a community, met late at night on 21 October 1921 Salón de Actos Públicos the editorial building  (picture) of La Prensa , an Argentine daily newspaper, 76 aficionados ( German  radio amateurs ) to the Radio Club Argentino to Life call.

The RCA is a member of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU Region 2), the international association of amateur radio associations, and represents the interests of Argentine radio amateurs there.
