The Irish Radio Transmitters Society (short: IRTS , German  "Irischer Funkenderverband" ) is the national association of radio amateurs in Ireland .

The association was founded in 1932 with the aim of promoting the practice of amateur radio and the associated research into high-frequency technology . The IRTS in-house magazine is called Echo Ireland . It appears monthly and is dedicated to the various member activities such as contests , campaigns such as SOTA and "DXpeditions", as well as the typical topics of amateur radio , such as transmission and reception technology, test reports and assembly instructions for antennas.

The IRTS is a member of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU Region 1), the international association of amateur radio associations, and represents the interests of Irish radio amateurs there.
