A Mist Is Over the Moon was composed and texted by the composer Ben Oakland and the lyricist Oscar Hammerstein for the film The Lady Objects . At the Academy Awards in 1939 , the song was nominated for "Best Song" , but had a disadvantage compared to Thanks for the Memory by Ralph Rainger and Leo Robin from the comedy film The Big Broadcast of 1938 . In the film, A Mist Is Over the Moon was sung by Tony Martin .

Further use

The song was also used in the film Blondie Meets the Boss , which was released in the US in 1939 , which developed into a film series with 28 films with Penny Singleton and Arthur Lake in the leading roles. The song also appeared in the 1946 musical film Talk About a Lady .
