From immemorabili

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ab immemorabili ( Latin ; since inconceivable / immemorial [time] ) is an expression from the legal system that is still used today in Roman Catholic church law . It is applied to privileges for which there is no documentary evidence, but which have been valid "since time immemorial" and for which legitimacy is therefore assumed:

Possessio centenaria vel immemorabilis praesumptionem inducit concessi privilegii ( CIC can. 76 § 2).
"A hundred year old or immemorial possession creates the legal presumption that the privilege was granted."

The immemorabili privilege largely corresponds to the immemorial statute of limitations .
