Ab urbe condita (idiom)

Ab urbe condita ( Latin for "since the founding of the City" ) is a phrase today has always been , since always , since time immemorial .

Since, according to the Roman view, nothing relevant happened before the founding of the city of Rome , this point in time is to be equated with the beginning of history . So what ab urbe condita happened is since always or immemorial done, been etc.

A similar phrase is Since Olim's times , which was formed with the Latin word for once .
