The structural term process refers to the curved concave connection to a projecting upper component . This profiling is also called Apophyge (Greek for fleeing, absence) Apophysis or Apothesis . The corresponding connection to a projecting lower component is called a run -up. Both are usually combined with the plate, a narrow vertical bar that is inserted between the inlet or outlet and the protruding component.
